Miheeism in Practice

Clueless

I’m probably the last to know. And out of 70+ mutual friends we have, no one told me.

I’m heading to Finland in less than a month’s time! Can’t wait to catch up with my old friend.

Got a perm last week. Quite happy with it. And I’ve learnt that there are people who love perms and those who don’t.

My Nose Job

My surgery was scheduled for 19 Dec (on Monday) and its to do (Disclaimer: I’m not medically trained, all the descriptions below are through googling):

- Septoplasty (the main highlight, to straighten the nasal septum, cartilage behind the nose bridge). This was done as the septum bent to the left and pretty much blocked out all my breathing.

- Turbinectomy, removing some of the turbinates that’s blocking my breathing as well

- Adenoidectomy, removing a soft tissue/lump that’s located at the back of the nose in the throat. This causes my snoring and also blocking my air passage due to its enlargement. Adults don’t need adenoids. The mucus that drips through my nose onto the adenoid will promote cough, and higher chance of bronchitis.

- endoscopic sinus surgery, the doctor told me he opened up some pathways to my sinus so I can breathe better

So anyway I had 4 procedures done and the surgery was supposed to be 2hours.

I don’t know how long was the actual time and I also cannot be f to check what was done and what not because when I woke up from the surgery, I was so disoriented.

Right after I knocked out from the GA (general anesthesia), the next thing I knew was a few people calling my name and asking me to wake up. And told me to breathe through my mouth. But somehow that was hard, I find it hard to breathe. And the nurse was saying “Your oxygen is 100%, you can breathe, breathe!”

And I think I was wheeled back to the day surgery ward, I still feel really groggy. They gave me sandwich, iced milo, cold soup, but I was barely able to feed myself.

I slept a little here and there. And the nurse from my doctor’s clinic came to pick me from the ward to go remove 2 packings (cotton stuffed) in my nose and to let the doctor vacuum my nose for blood clots and mucus. I was supposed to go home after 6 hours observation but I was bleeding quite a bit, super groggy and blood pressure was plunging so I was made to stay at hospital for the night.

It’s quite irritating cos’ I’m sharing a room with another lady and she was yakking on the phone for quite long and loudly. I think she called her entire phone book.

Anyway, the next day I went to vacuum my nose again at the doc’s clinic before I was discharged.

My nose is secreting blood, mucus, etc since the day of the surgery, and still at it. It will take a few days for it to go away I think.

I can’t blow my nose, and that’s very irritating as I can feel all the mucus building up!

Back to hospital tomorrow to let the doctor remove more packings stuffed in my nose and do some vacuuming.

I’ve been eating so much its not funny. My face became fat.

And I thought I would have no appetite and will slim down post-op.

ZZZ.

And this is the amount of medications and sprays etc that I gotta take.

I drew up a schedule on what time to do what, I’m busy every 2 hours starting at 8am. And after 8pm no more drugs for me!
